The crawlspace is flooded for the first time we've ever lived here, but not actually threatening the house...hopefully yet.  We're looking into what we can do to pump that water out now and install a sump pump for any future issues (though again, first time in 7 years).

The sun was out for about six hours yesterday, but more rain on the way.  At this point, my garden is going to be lucky to stay alive.

Shop vac or buckets if it's only a few inches or so, and a window fan to get it to dry out once you have enough water bailed out (make sure to get it dry when you can).  Past that, may have to call the pro big pumpers

We're OK for the moment.  Not much sleep :/  Lot of flooding rain, although our house is fine for now, surrounding areas are getting flooded.  Where DH works has a bit of damage consistent with high winds or maybe tornado.  Downed power lines and power outages, trees down all over the place, ever damn Bradford Pear in the area must be down by now.

As far as I can tell, our crape myrtle officially and completely bought it.  Time to chainsaw that sucker down.

And another round is supposed to roll into the area late morning, midday.  Bleh, I didn't want to go anywhere today anyway.

Zsa's area had some scary stuff yesterday afternoon/evening.

I hope the garden is safe V.

We've had downpours every day and random thunder.  It's just enough to keep everything a muddy mess.

We lucked out this time.   It's a good thing too, since we were in the car for 5 hours yesterday.

I was so tired after not sleeping because of storms for the past week that last night I just decided that I didn't care if  tree fell on me and I crashed.  It was wonderful.  I did have the weather radio on in case any new warnings came through, but we ended up getting nothing but gobs of rain and thunder.  I forced H to call tree people, but not roof or fence people.  I guess those are my jobs.  And I get to watch for the tree people to come by for estimates today...because I don't have a job and all.   My next husband will be the kind that likes taking care of a house even when it isn't fun.

We just got a lot of rain and thunder...which sucks because Woody hates thunder. He has some sort of negative reinforcement thing going on, where he thinks if he barks at the thunder, it makes it stop. I had hoped bringing him to bed with us would help, but no - at the first clap of thunder he went flying off the bed, barking his head off. We are all suffering from a case of the grumblecakes today.
