TLo need to blog about Walking Dead, like, three days ago.

In their absence, anyone have thoughts? Am I the only one who watched it?

  • I watched.

I'm having a hard time with how dumb everyone is this season.    For example, this week Lori decided someone needed to go after the guys after they went after the old man.   And OF COURSE something happens to her when she does.   Gee, I hope nothing happens with her baby.   (rolls eyes)  How convenient.

And I was really shocked about sheriff guy (having a hard time coming up with names today) shooting the 2 interlopers.   (Side note: the head guy was Rene on the first season of True Blood.)    And while I think murder is wrong (as does sheriff) I felt like he did what he had to do to protect their group.   But on the other hand, the interlopers were just doing what they needed to do as well.   It's a tough situation.   Hard to know what you would do in a similar situation.
  • YES, a million times, about Lori. When did she think they were coming back? How many people need to go into town at a time? FFS.

I liked this episode for Rick's (sheriff guy) character development. All along he's just been this amorphous hero, this symbol of hope, doing what's "right" and what's "good" without ever getting caught up in what's necessary. I think he really turned a corner here, and I hope he won't agonize about it too much, but instead start developing as an actual human being in a crisis.

I also really liked watching Herschel deal with his demons, instead of being all "cheery country doctor" in the face of an apocalypse. Again, it was a much more human reaction.

And some more on Lori: OF COURSE your child is going to turn hard. ZOMBIES HAVE TAKEN OVER THE WORLD. I'd be really disappointed in my kid if she didn't nut up and realize the rules have changed. Shooting someone in the head has to be an act of love - is it better to let them just be zombies? Really?!

Lady needs to wake the eff up, or leave with crazy-cakes Otis-murderer Shane.

  • Rick - yes.   And how could I forget the name Herschel.

I agree with you about Herschel dealing with his demons and am finding his storyline very interesting.   I can see, as a Christian and a doctor, how he could feel the way he did about the possibility of a cure and about not giving up hope.   And then to lose all that - your faith, your loved ones, your hope - I can't blame him for going off the wagon.   (It's off the wagon when you're drinking again, right?)

Oh, and EW has a recap of the episode that's pretty good.   Might help you get your fix until TLO has time to post.   They said they'd be late on all the TV show recaps this week.

  • I noticed Rene instantly, AF.

I loved what Rick did this episode.  Those guys were nothing but trouble and hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to protect your family/group.

I really like following Shane's character.  I'm interested to see what they do with him this season.

Lori has always annoyed the crap out of me.  I wonder if Herschel's daughter got bit and that's why she collapsed and is running a fever.

Notamrs - that was my FIRST THOUGHT, and I don't know why no one else has brought it up. I was all yelling at the TV "Check for bites! BITES!!"

I just figured that was too obvious.   If she did get bit, there has to be a twist to it, like she got bit on purpose or something.
