When xH and I met, xH had a friend B, whom he had known for a long time. We'd hang out with B a few times a year, but nothing constant. Then B met a girl, M., and they have been together ever since. So I told xH that since B was his friend, I would decline the invite and send a gift. He could go, take a date and it would alleviate the babysitter issue. He said he hates weddings and thinks I should go anyways.
