s/o yoga...I'm skeered

I signed up for a yoga retreat thing this weekend.  It sounded like a lot of fun, but then I remembered that I haven't done any yoga for about two years.  And the last class I was in left me hobbling for a week and then visiting a chiropractor weekly for three months.  There was a schedule where I could set my preferences and I opted out of yoga everywhere I could.  Instead I'll be going on a hike, doing some craft thing, etc.  But I have a feeling I will still be the most uncoordinated, lumpy, dumpy person there.  They are all going to point and laugh and I might have to run out crying.  My friend offered to pick me up on her way there, but now I'm thinking I need to have my own car there for a quick escape.

Are there different levels? I would enjoy a yoga weekend, but I would start out in beginner classes. Or is this, IF YOU CAN'T DO A HANDSTAND WITH ONE HAND YOU ARE A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING type classes? Because that does not sound relaxing at all.

That is what I am afraid of!!  One of the "beginner" classees I went to at my gym a few years ago was fine until about half-way through when the instructor was all "okay, let's all stand on our heads, then levitate and float across the room where you will pair off and pick your partner's nose with your toe."

it will be fine.  the instructor might spend more time with you, manipulating your body.

just think to yourself: i have an award-winning junk drawer -- is there nothing i can't do?

Every yoga class I've ever been in they told us not to exceed what we feel our bodies can do, and then the instructor might come over and work with us individually, but not force anything. Granted, it's been A WHILE since I was in a yoga class, but I don't imagine much has changed.
