Hi, I have been reading about "cash bars" and was wondering if this kind of falls under that category.
The BM of our wedding, my FH's friend from bygone wild days, wants to bring a trailer up to our wedding reception and sell booze out of it, giving the proceeds to us. Nice thought, but...
First, our reception is in a park in town and will be VERY casual (i.e.,even my FH is wearing jeans to the wedding). My parents are supplying pop and water, and people can bring their own alcohol, but none of us are too big into guzzling copious amounts of alcohol on special occasions (save, cough, the BM and buddies). That said, I don't want it to be a drunk-fest.
Second, you have to have a liquor license to sell alcohol in our area. My parents aren't about to pay for one, and I don't blame them. We do have to have a cop there because it's on public property. So, there's not really any way to "slide" around that, either...
My FH has told him not to bring the trailer and gave him the above reasons, but he still seems pretty set on doing it, and from past experience, it's quite possible that he will. I'm getting a little frustrated and stressed out about this!
