Wedding Woes

Things for a slow Thursday

1. I forgot I had a request in for spring break and just got offered the exact place I wanted.  I had to turn it down because we're not going now.  Where was this last year?!  Womp, womp.

2.  I did change my search though because DH and I are taking an anniversary trip, damnit.  I put in a wide search...FL Keys, FL gulf coast, Vegas, NYC, and Nashvegas.  We'll see what comes up. I think I really want the Keys or Vegas.

3. The sitter isn't taking off for Spring Break this year any more.  I have most the week off, but I'm contemplating canceling a couple days so that I can save my vacation for another time.

4. Every time I see a picture of Jon Hamm that shows below his waist, my eyes can't help but play 'find the meat stick'.  It's involuntary.

5. The underwire busted out of my favorite bra.

6.  I want a nap.

7. I cannot believe my baby is going to be 2 in a week.  It makes me happy and sad at the same time.

you know i feel you on all the vacation stuff. you and vacations just don't mix these days!

enjoy 2 - i hear 3 is rough. i actually enjoy the day to day getting older stuff, because this kid is a handful. i am not nostalgic about babyhood. (but, i do think i might have had a touch of PPD because of how terrified i was to leave the house with him, and he is never as bad as i anticipate him to be)

is that why jon hamm is so popular? you ladies can be real pervs!  ;)

i cannot find my favorite, best fitting bra. this is a WFH problem if there ever was one. i haven't had this kind of trouble with pants, ever.

    i always want a nap.

I had a dream last night that I forgot to pick 6let up at school.  I did not sleep well last night and I want a nap, but now I'm paranoid I'll forget him.
  • Is 3 worse than 2?

My fav age is five. They are so cute at five and have so many questions about everything. It's a fun age.

  • I have noticed 3 is obstinate.  Or maybe that is just my little corner of the world.

And I had a very explicit sex dream last night, and had trouble separating fact from fiction when I woke up.  Wowza.

People say 3 is worse than 2. That 3 is "like 2, but with intent."  We have not found that to be the case in our house, though I'll say Dex was much an easier 3 than Des is turning out to be.

I miss my babies terribly, but I do enjoy some of the stuff they come up with these days. We just need more one on one time with them. It's just all chaos all the time around here.

  • 2 is entertaining. you never know what will set them off or what they will say.

we've had to walk out of the room, mid-tantrum because we didn't want to laugh in front of her.

last night Wolverine and I had a conversation about how Mickey Mouse has a penis because he's a boy, and Minnie Mouse has a vagina because she is a girl. We also discussed how Donald Duck has a penis because he is a boy, but Big Bird does not because only male ducks and swans have penises - other birds have cloacae. She's going to be really popular at daycare.

i am looking forward to tomorrow - it's my Friday off, and I'm going dress shopping for the wedding in May. Going to the Galleria (Houston's ritzy mall) and going to Nordstrom (triple points & $20 g/c) and DSW. YAY! Meeting DK for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

that sounds like the conversation i had with him about what happens to clouds when i rains, and his response was, "firetruck!" maybe this weekend i'll have the duck penis talk.

sidenote - he was pulling his peen the other day. when i asked him to stop pulling on it, his response was, "weenie fun!" i told him he could have fun with it later, but i had to clean it for him at that moment. (he can clean it himself, but how clean can a toddler get himself, really.)

LOL.  Yes, every diaper change DefConn pulls on it, says "peepee!", and giggles.

Oh and he's taken to sitting on the kitchen floor to have his tantrums. And he's started screaming in the past week.  It's blood curdling and ear drum popping.
  • 3 is harder for us. Way more intentional being bad and tantrum behavior. I am so tired. I need a nap so bad today. I need to save my vacation days for my maternity leave but I'm thinking so taking one next week Friday. We're having a party at our house and there is no way I think I can be up for it if I don't have some time to nap before everyone comes over.

Every age has it's challenge and every age has it's cute.

M2 is hysterical when you tell her no- her shoulders drop, her face falls, and she harumphs off.  Her thank you sounds like "peepee."
  • 5.  I started last year off with four bras.  I am down to 2.  I have lost a black one and a nude one.  I have absolutely no idea where they went.  How many options can there really be?  I've had a discussion with DH about stealing my underwear, but now I'm wondering if it's not one of the dogs.
