Sorry, I just saw your post.
Today is one full week on the meds and we can see some improvement.
The seizures aren't completely gone but when she does have them they are much shorter and it's like she can snap herself out of them.
Sometimes when we are talking to her her eyes will roll back and it's like she's fighting it off because she continues to talk. And it's not just the normal eyeroll she throws out when she's annoyed or thinks something is dumb.
The way the doctor explained it when she would have the full on zone out seizures and still smack her lips or move her hands it was like a part of her brain wasn't frozen. Now with the medicine it's like more and more parts are unfreezing so maybe in 3-4 weeks like he said we won't see any effects because they will be completely gone.
Side effects- she has been more tired lately and complained of a stomachache. She complained of a headache for 2 nights but nothing since. There are some days that she is extra sensitive and anything that happens is the worst thing EVER and other days where she is a brat. That was just over the weekend and if it continued I was going to ask for a different medication. Fighting with her is like fighting with myself and that sht is not cool.
So all in all I'd say it's working and there has been vast improvement on the quantity and duration of the seizures. She has a checkup in 6 weeks for the doc to confirm.
