Wedding Woes

Mother nature SUX! Disclaimer: Read at your own risk, a bit TMI

Facts:
- Wedding date: November 3, 2012
- Today is my last day on my period for this month
- My period lasts for 6 days!
- When I "calculate" when my period will fall for the next few months, I am sad to say I will start my period either the 1st or 2nd of November...and I will  still be on my period for most of the honeymoon (11/4-11/10)
- By the time our wedding comes, my future hubby and I would have abstained from sex for about 1 1/2 years!! (So i'll be verrrrryyy ready to end that)
- I plan on starting birth control soon

Is ther even anything that can be done about this (other than changing my wedding date)
?

As I stated, I haven't ordered my birth control yet, and I don't know how safe this is, but I heard that there is a way you can skip your sugar pills or something, which will make you skip your period for a month?? Does anyone know anything about this?

(I would normally never do anything like that, but this is a special scenario)
Thnx n advance for the help, advice!

looks like you are going to have to change your wedding date. sorry.
  • This post is a lot of drama over a period.
  • you realize that you can have sex when you have your period, right?

    1) talk to your OBGYN. I think the skip a pill thing can take a few months to regulate - you may have missed your window on that.
1a)look into other forms of BC, like a Mirena IUD, which generally reduce/eliminate your periods altogether.
    2) be sure to name a Diva Cup attendant, just in case. make sure she's included in your program.
    3) pack extra tampons for your honeymoon, if going to the pool/hot tub or beach
    4) take meds for any PMS symptoms, or just drink copious amounts of alcohol.

even if your period lasts 6 days, that doesn't mean full on red rum for 6 days.
  • i have some extra bc pills you can use to experiment.  pm me.

Now that I think of it, I may have some too.  I'd have to dig, since I've been off slut pills for 3 years.

Let me get back to you!
  • I haven't had a period since April.  Why don't you try my method, get knocked up!

Definitely talk to your doctor about options- there are some bc methods that mean you get your period every three months instead of monthly, etc.  You might be able to time one of those better. And only your doc will know if it's too soon to piggyback a pack.

  • Have sex before your period so that you can end the abstinence, regardless of when the wedidng is.

  • You know, having sex when on your period helps cramps.

Why are people so anti period sex?

  • When I started BC before the wedding, I thought I was going to start my period around my wedding day as well, but what I didn't know is that the dr. told me to take the first pill on the first day of my next period (apparently this is the most effective way to start, rather than start whenever).

If you do the math, that means I was actually taking the white pills during my period and then for another two weeks. Then I started the "period" pills, which actually put me a week ahead of my normal cycle. That means I didn't have my period on my wedding or honeymoon - yay!

So . . . if you haven't started BC yet, there is hope. Talk to your dr. about when you should actually start the pills. You still have enough time, so you can def time it out right.
