Wedding Woes

Yeah, I might've spoken too soon.

I mentioned a little while ago that MIL & sFIL are coming to visit for Thanksgiving, and how I was happy about it.

She just sent me an email asking if it would be alright if they stayed for TWO WEEKS.

One week, I could handle. But two? Sweet lady gaga, no thank you.

TWO WEEKS!?!? I'd end up faking a heart attack or some BS.

Not to mention the fact that we'll be working (I'd better have a job by then), and the thought of them driving around LA by themselves is turrifying.

2 weeks? No. No one visits me for more than a week.

My mom presses it by wanting to visit for 9 days and then extend it. When I tell her no, she gets all butt-hurt. It's tough. I love you, but that's too much.

Myrtle - no crap. When my ILs come visit us, they immediately hand over the keys and H drives everywhere.

I was thinking they'd want to stay Mon-Sat on the week of TG. I was definitely not thinking two damn weeks.

I texted H and his response was, "You're joking, right?"

Also, I'm hoping this doesn't evolve into a big family trip with Little Bro & the PPP.

have your H suggest that they come the week of TG, and then take the 2nd week to go out and explore Cali- maybe take a trip down to San Diego or up to San Fran.

    Barbie makes a good point.

I'm hoping H gets this job and then we can use the excuse that we can't afford the trip to go see our families and come one step closer on becoming complete shut-ins.

well, now that you've put the thought out there ...

what are the chances that they don't tell you this, and just show up with the whole crew?

That's not MIL's way. She'd tell us at the very last minute. Like, as they're getting off the plane.

But really, I don't believe that'll happen. They know we don't have room or time to entertain everyone.

I think she misses us so much that she'd want us all to herself. Hell, she might even ditch sFIL.

Ded, E. They actually do have gangland tours around here. They take people like MIL into Watts & Compton and introduce them to gang members, teach them some gang signs, how to properly apply spraypaint to a wall, and send them home wearing their own special gang colors. It'd be a great learning experience!

Two weeks gets a big HELL NO!!  Barbie's idea would be really good though.

Yikes! Two weeks is a long time, especially if they can't really do things on their own and keep themselves entertained.
