Potty training help, plz

DD has been using the potty for two days now and has stayed dry during the days.  We have the Baby Bjorn potty:  http://www.amazon.com/Bjorn%C2%AE-Potty-Chair-Comfort-Rubber/dp/B000MEU3M4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1329321312&sr=8-4

I'm wondering if I need something for the van.  We do go out a lot.  Does anyone have any recs for portable seats or should we just bring the BB with us?

Also confession:  we have been rewarding HARD, you guys.  Twinkies, GS cookies, a trip to TRU.  She's probably wondering why she didn't quit the diaper ages ago.

  • If you do need a travel one, ikea has them SUPER cheap
  • I have no help, but the kid on the potty is too cute. I think that's how most men like to potty with just their socks on.

  • As soon as I get my butt to the store, I'm getting one of those plastic fold up ones for when we're out in public.

I'm in denial that we need one for the car because the thought disgusts me, so I have no suggestions there.  (The fold up one disgusts me too, actually.)

DD has been using the potty for #1 and #2 for about a month now, with only one daytime accident and one nighttime accident (both #1's and both last week).   We put our last pull-up on her today, so I guess we're going to try panties.   My mom is taking her out today to go panty shopping.

I still have several weeks worth of little prizes for her, but I guess she doesn't need them!    I suppose I'll save those for her Easter basket.

Wishing you continued success!!!   I'm sure you'll be so glad to only have one in diapers!   :)

Same to you!  It's very exciting.
  • I don't know why you would need one for the van unless it's just convenient to not have to tote that one in and out.  We just took 6let's along for the ride with a thing of Clorox wipes and a plastic bag.  I hated that thing.  It was over in a week, now we just use the insert at home and I hold him when we're ouy (excpet at the mall with the AWESOME family bathroom).  I love that foldy thing AF posted though.

    TMI-
We were headed to Columbus on a stretch of highway that has NOTHING and we were a solid 15 minutes from the nearest stop.  6let said he had to go potty.  Normally he can hold it, but he was clearly in agony.  I pulled over thinking it would just be a pee.  He had explosive diarrhea on the side of the highway.  Ugh.  It's one of the very few times I've ever littered.

I usually let him get himself in, but no way was I doing that on the highway.  So he proceeded to kick and scream while I strapped him in.  Which in turn woke up M2 who then proceeded to scream.

    That trip sucked.
