Wedding Woes

Dog related

I think we may have to get Blake a collar---you know...the cone of shame.

He licks himself until he gets granulomas...holes in his skin.  He gets them mostly on his hind legs.  I feel so bad.  I'm sure it's anxiety related, so I'm prodding H to take him on runs again.  I think he's a "happier" dog when he gets lots of exercise.

Poor puppy.

    This is bizarre. I was thinking the same thing about Toby last night. He cannot.stop.licking. It woke me up at midnight, and again at 6:00 this morning.

    Is it possible Blake has allergies? Maybe try giving him a Benadryl (1mg/pound of body weight) and see if it helps.

    I was just going to comment about allergies. Haley's are bad right now too, except she itches her ears.

    Blake licked so much last week, that he didn't poop for 3 full days.

    ::smh::

    I will try the benadryl.

    And the weird thing...it's on the BOTTOM of his feet....above his pads...the same exact place on both feet.  Like my dog has stigmata.

    Iggy used to lick himself raw - it was horrible. He lived in the cone. I felt sorry for him. I am amazed he even got adopted.

    Su has a cone of shame for licking herself raw too. Why are dogs such fruitcakes? When I'm nervous I don't lick myself raw, I just sit there quietly and sometimes cry. Geez.

    It's almost like ulcers, but I looked up some stuff and did a little research.  It makes sense.

    tired doggies are good doggies.
    We end up bitter appling Melvin (Dawg's tail) a lot because she's kinda crazy.

    We tried the inflat-a-collar-- http://www.arcatapet.com/item.cfm?cat=12670But Dawg's body shape is weird enough she can still reach it.
