things, none of which are hugely important, all of which I"m long-winded about

-I have a small (TMI-ish) skin-condition that I thought was related to BFing but it's getting worse and I can't fix it myself.  I asked people on a (non-knot/nest) forum who know more than I do about BFing for other solutions and was treated to 'zomgs, it sounds exactly like the inflammatory breast-cancer that killed my sister' sort of stuff.
Really people?
I said in the OP I was going to call my OB this week for my yearly and I'll bring it up then.  I don't need that.  And that is why I should reserve my weird questions for WW

-My MIL is having her dog put down today.  I was afraid it was coming to that--I tried to tactfully bring up quality-of-life around Thanksgiving but they weren't ready to hear it (and I didn't push, it's a hard and personal decision)--but their pet-sitter, over Christmas, mentioned how upset he was by LittleDog's dementia and they decided it had to be done.  I'm sad for them and I'm going to order flowers tonight.  (but the dog is 16 years old...he had a good life)

-I worked hard to drum up more science-thingy-I-Do-for-work participation this year...and apparently it worked, at least a little.  I'm currently finalzing numbers and we're overall, increasing the number of participating  schools!  (which is huge.)  We lost schools, but mostly because $$$ sucks and parent volunteers are stretched to thin (and I've personally been in contact w/ people at every school we lost--nothing I can do) but we added more than we lost.
(the 'con' of that is getting to re-work EVERYTHING about the schedule because I can cram a few extra kids into your average classroom if I must but there are safety considerations w/ lab-experiments; I can't safely put 35 kids in a lab w/ 28 as capacity.  This is a challenge)

- I got a lunchbox for christmas that I LOVE.  'tis a bento box and I like it a gazillion times more than my traditional lunch box:

It has a few practicality issues, but I'm fixing those.

-I can't go microwave my lunch because I'm waiting on a callback from a teacher.  I'm eating hershey kisses while I wait and I think this is bad for my tummy.

  • I love how even the subject line is long.

  • 1) maybe just a yeast infection of some sort? (you can get them on your skin - like athlete's foot or jock itch)

    2) poor dog. it must be hard to lose a pet, but happy she's considering the quality of life.

    4) i was looking at bentos a while ago. can you review it after you use it a bit longer? (i'm particularly interested in separation of components if there is one tray that is split) when i bring my lunch i normally just toss it all in a grocery store bag and bring it - but i usually have anywhere from 3-6 tupperware containers with different components to separate wet/dry (especially when bringing salads) for freshness.

that's one of the problems...weird ointments for baby to ingest = bad.
I'm guessing something stupid like thrush--although Buffy is fine.
OB's office can't get me in right away, I'm stuck calling PCP once I find her number.

    I shall do bento-review.
I like how it looks and feels and that I can put things in removable compartments.
And it's decently sized (so many bentos don't let me pack enough food) and dishwasher safe.
Con so far = I don't think it's microwavable.  But my little ceramic cornigware dishes can just plop in--then they're held upright AND I'm microwaving in ceramic so I quit eating BPA or whatever is giving me cancer this week.

  • Silly Barbie, you know I already have ADHD.
I'm just making it worse :-)
