Wedding Woes

first bridal woe.

I accidently put this on the wrong board! Hope they didn't mind ;)

Last night I went with my mother, MOH, and grandmother to pick up the wedding dress we had bought two months ago along with the headpeice. As I was trying it on, I first realized that the dress was a little bit bigger than I would have liked (but this was no ones fault, i have not had alterations, just put me a little on edge), then after getting the dress on I had my MOH grab the headpeice from the bag... it was not the one we ordered. Apparently the one we actually wanted (and tried on, and it was understood that was the one we were purchasing) was not the one my bridal consultant ordered (I had not even tried on the one I recieved, had never seen it). Also, the one that we thought we ordered was apparently triple the price of the one that was actually ordered. There was a slight panic attack before realizing I have plenty of time to order a new one (lets hope for no charge).

Next - No bussel. My bridal consultant literally told me three different times that I will not need any alterations. She actually told me this WHILE the dress was busseled. So why is it, now that I have my actual dress, there is no bussel and I have to have it altered in? Apparently this is common sense, but not to someone that doesn't work at a bridal shop.

I needed to share this moment, because while it did suck, I felt like a real bride. Even more so than when I bought the dress, because this time, I had to work for what I wanted and really stand up for what I wanted at MY wedding :)

When did you feel like a real bride??

[QUOTE]I once saw on Oprah that this wedding party was hit by a drunk driver on the way from a wedding and the brides niece was decapitated and her head landed in her mothers lap. She picked it up and cradled it along the highway. That is pretty horrific.

you know, i always wondered if the bride was there on the side of the road on her smartphone posting on TK boards about how her wedding was ruined and how she needed a do-over when this happned. "ZOMG, ny niece's bloodstains totally don't match my pink and purple glittery butterflies theme!"

As a matter of fact the bustle is from brussels! Or I'm just horrible at spelling? Probably the second one. Wifezilla, drunk drivers and decapitations are horrific, this should be your reply to EVERY stressful complaint/vent on TK.

That's a good idea for a show on OWN.  Oprah dedicates a half hour show to updating the world on her her most interesting/inspiring/tragic guests.
