Not trying to tragedy-whore or anything, especially since, all things considered, it's more serious than outright tragic.
My dad's wife called me at work Monday afternoon to tell me my dad had a heart attack. I flew out Tuesday, and he originally had a quadruple bypass scheduled for yesterday, but it was rescheduled for today. They put in a stent as soon as he got to the hospital, and since then he's been doing well. He'll be in surgery for the next few hours.
Fans of mutants will be interested to know that his angiogram revealed that he has abnormally small arteries. The amount of blockage he had would not have caused a heart attack in someone with normal-size arteries. As it was, one artery was 100% blocked and "several" were 90% blocked. Hence, the quadruple bypass.
Right now, it's just a lot of waiting, so of course I washed up at my favorite place to kill time.
