Tuxes are supposed to be a more formal and elegant version of a suit, correct? That being the case, wouldn't a tux with a vest be a swankier version of a three-piece suit?
So who in the HELL ever thought up that godawful trashy prom look of the vest matching the tie instead of matching the tux, as if it weren't part of the suit at all? I feel angry every time I see this tacky as hell look. Do people even understand how bad and classless this looks?!
