Wedding Woes

Do you hate your own handwriting?

I've often wanted to do little projects like this

http://pinterest.com/pin/91823629/

But I just know that I'd stare at it all the time and think about how stupid my handwriting is.

But somehow, I don't think other people would necessarily hate my handwriting. Maybe the person who did this hates their handwriting, too, but I think it looks awesome.

That is your deep thought of the day. And, for the ehck of it, a poll:

I hate, hate, HATE my own handwriting.  HATE IT.

I'm tres jealous of people who have pretty handwriting.

My cousin's wife has the most perfect handwriting I've ever seen.  EVER.  And she's tall, skinny, and beautiful.  And so nice.  I hate that bitch. LOL   Really, she's so sweet and I wished they lived closer.  /tangent

If I did a project like that, I'd use my legible handwriting - either a cool printing I do or a semi-calligraphy, both developed as a teen when people complained about my handwriting.

My normal handwriting is mostly legible if I print, almost completely illegible if I use cursive. I don't know if I hate it, but cursive, at least, is pretty useless to me. And if it's anything longer than a short grocery list, I type it, because that's just faster and easier to read  if I have to give the list to someone else.

So I voted for shirtless menz, TY.

This is a big deal in scrapbooking, actually. People always want pre-printed titles and captions because they don't want to "mess up" a layout with their handwriting, but natural writing often flows much better, even if it's a little harder to read. I struggled with this for a long time and am only just starting to get over it.

Now, as long as the project I'm working on is fairly free-form, and I can write in a natural size I'm okay with my handwriting. But for large letters or more elegant layouts I still want something printed.

My SIL has gorgeous decorative handwriting and I'm totally jealous. I've seriously considered taking calligraphy classes thinking it will help me train my hands to write more nicely.

td, all of my scrapbooks have printed titles and journaling.  it's not just that i don't think my own writing is good enough; i want other people to read it too.  i will continue this way until dead.

i took calligraphy classes and they helped AND hurt.  certain letters are much clearer, but the way i was taught r's is messed up, yo.  no one can read my cursive s's

My handwriting was the bane of my English teacher mother's existence.  Every once in a while I think about trying to improve it, but usually wind up clearing out my DVR instead.

I like my handwriting, but I can't say that it is other-peoples-wedding-invitation worthy.  H's is, though.  His handwriting is soooo pretty.

I'm a lefty. if I keep my writing uber tiny it's legible. But microscopic. If I write big is just a mess.

As a result, I write tiny and I'm VERY particular about my pens. They have to be the finiest point I can get.

SIL, on the other hand, has GORGEOUS writing and even did my wedding invitation addressing.

    I'm a special-snowflake on this.
Because there's a difference between my 'writing' and my 'lettering'.

My writing is ATROCIOUS.  I failed penmanship until they quit grading penmanship in middle school.  I hate it.
But I learned calligraphy at some point and when I take the time to 'letter' as opposed to just writing, I like my writing.

(yes, people ask me to do wedding invites.  I try to avoid.  I only do calligraphy for people I love because it's a lot of mental energy for me because my defalt writing is so bad)

I love my handwriting.  I think it's beautiful and I don't understand people who can't write in cursive.  It's faster b/c you never pick up your pen.  Even if I do print, all the letters are still connected in a half cursive manner b/c I don't pick up the pen for almost anything except to cross a "t" or dot an "i".

I never had any problems with people reading my handwriting until the past 5 years and I blame it on the fact that they don't teach cursive anymore.  I've done calligraphy too and did my own invitations and a calligraphy pen that you actually had to dip the quill into ink to use.  I adored it.  It does take a lot of mental concentration though.  I could only do about 5-6 an hour.  I had one invite of a gay couple who had a long address and lived in Indianapolis, Indiana.  That invite nearly killed me.

My handwriting is that of two year olds......No matter how slow I write, or how thick the tip of the writing utensil is, my handwriting still SUCKS!!

My hand writing is atrocious. My math teacher would have hated me if I wasn't really good with numbers because she was the only teacher I couldn't type for. It might be the lefty thing. I found it hard to learn to write so that it was readable because I have to learn it backwards...sort of. The only lefty I know with decent handwriting is my aunt and she was hit by nuns when she was learning. I still have that problem when doing lab work. I actually hate cursive (I did learn it). My teachers actually requested I didn't use it because unless I took twelve hours on a single sentence it was incomprehensible. My mom says I have a doctor's handwriting lol.

My normal handwriting stinks. But if im writing on a cake and Im concentrating it can be very pretty. If I look back at notes i scribbled down Im the only one who can read them, well... I can read them most of the time.

Soo... where are the pics of Ryans abs ;)
