Wedding Woes

Yay for Bert and Ernie

The boys are doing really well. They got vaccinated and temperament tested this weekend. Ernie is fabulous, just all playful puppy. Bert is a little more reserved and fearful of other dogs (understandably so), and is going to need some help from us to build him up and show him it's ok to meet other dogs, and that they're not going to try and eat him. But they both passed, so ::whew::

We introduced them to Spike on Friday and used Bella as one of the dogs for the "official dog intro" (as well as rescue friends' dogs). Last night we decided to see how they did with Bella off leash, playing in the yard. I think they had a good time ;) They're out playing with Spike and Bella now. FTR- Bella is the blue pittie we rescued in February, who was also a bait dog and used as a breed dog after that. She looooves to play.

Wonderful!  You're really doing awesome things for these dogs, Ilove.

ilove - I gotta say, if there was a chance that one of my fosters might be put down, I don't think I could do it anymore. That takes some serious cajones. My hat is off to you.

Ooh, also, we've almost got them completely potty trained! They're so flipping smart. And when we let them in, they run right back into their crates. <3

It's really freaking hard, and I swore we'd be done fostering for a long while, after Brian. But when these boys showed up and it was get them out or put them down, we of course took them. Min, if it were a situation like that with pugs, you'd step up and do it too. It's not about us, it's about them, ya know?

Yeah, well, what I say and what I would do could be two different things, you are right. It is so much easier with pugs. They are not stigmatized and are really social, so we don't usually have problems. I mean, we are foster #8 and have had no REAL problems.

I am going to the director's house tonight to get some antibiotcis. We think Lincoln has a respiratory infection. He has huge snots when he snorts and has a bit of a cough (def. not kennel cough). But other than that, he is awesome.

Yay!!!!!  So glad everyone is doing well...

Poor Lincoln. I hope he gets to feeling better.

It sucks, b/c there are SO many awesome pitties out there. Unfortunately the ones that are in dire need to get out of the shelter, or come in and need to get out ASAP are the ones that are broken in some way, so they're already at a disadvantage.
