Wedding Woes

Tired, but at least it's wednesday

M2 decided to wake up at 1030 and 1230.  Then at 3 or 4 DH got an automated call about a train derailment and explsion followed by a text about it.  Ugh.

For Bmom and Jojo- I have convinced DH to give me a week to try to find a beekeeper and get rid of the hives that way.  They are out of control right now though.  We have 6 hives in various places around the house.  6let has been stung 3 times.  DH has been stung once and had to epi pen it.

  • I was wondering if you were anywhere near that derailment.  They said they evacuated the mile radius and I was all "ooooohh 6 would be so pissed."

It's not really near us.  The call seems to have come from DH's job.  I have the sheriff's "code red" thing programmed for my phone, but he must have something else.

    WE SOLD OUR CAR! Yippee!!!

And we sold it for only $300 under our asking price! I can't wait to call insurance and have them take it off.  w00t!

Boo to the bees.  :(  If Mr. 6 is allergic, that's nothing to screw around with.  I take it 6let isn't allergic to them?  I hope you can find a beekeeper to take them.

    Woooohoooooo for selling the car!

Mr is allergic, but 6let is not.  He has been so traumatized he won't go on the back deck though.  Which kinda sucks for me because I used to send them there while I got lunch together.
  • YAY for selling your car, Mrsconn.  YAY!

Bees are no fun.  I can't imagine having that many hives around...I would freak.  And my dogs would be running to eat them all.  Not smart.

  • I'm all for trying to save the bees.  We plant lavendar to attract them and my allergy to them is one of the main reasons for me staying out of the garden the majority of the time.  Heck, we even bought predatory wasps to put into the garden.  Again, that's around 400 feet away from the house.

But, they've built in a place next to your home, not a yard away like it is for me, meaning you can't avoid them.  I'd spray them.  Your little beehives aren't going to be the dealbreaker for this situation.  Monsanto going up in flames would.

Poor baby! Three stings! Dex had his first one maybe 10 days ago. It was pitiful, and his toe still doesn't look 100 back to normal. : I can't imagine 3 in rapid succession.
