Wedding Woes

Is this odd?

So I love my future Sister in-law, but something she did has me wondering.  She is insisting that she have a full trial run for both hair and makeup with the people who are doing MY hair and makeup.  It is a little odd to me considering that I have not even gone for a trial run!!!!

Am I just worrying too much?

[QUOTE]So I love my future Sister in-law, but recently her behavior  has me wondering.  She is insisting that she have a full trial run for both hair and makeup with the people who are doing MY hair and makeup.  She also has decided that she and her daughter (who is also in the wedding) need diamond earrings and flashy shoes, too.  I am a little offended, esp. considering that I have not even gone for a trial run!!!! Am I just worrying too much?  Wedding is 5 weeks away!!!

<div>Actually, she needs to chill the hell out. Unless she's paying for all this herself. I'm assuming she's telling you that you need to pay for this?</div>

What Hmo said.  As long as she isn't insisting you pay who cares?

It is odd, but it doesn't affect you does it?

If she is paying, the only thing that concerns me is the "flashy shoes", because I'm picturing these:

and that would be a problem.

You are right, I am just stressed, I am sure everything will be wonderful, and she will look great, too!

change your screen name to something that isn't your name.

Nothing detracts from the bride. Get over it, move on, let her look the fool for trying to outshine.

I actually can see your issue with this.  Why DOES she want the people doing YOUR hair to do her trial run?  To me, it's that distinction that makes it odd.  As for needing "flashy" shoes...it sounds to me like someone wants to make the attempt to upstage the bride to some degree.  She WON'T, of course, because the bride always gets the most attention and focus, but there ARE some people who want to make it all about them and that DOES have an effect on you because they are there to support you, not grandstand.

I'm not one of the "NO ONE CAN LOOK GOOD EXCEPT FOR ME" types when it comes to brides and weddings, at all, but if someone starts single white female-ing my stylist, words would be had. ;)

or she will look like a crazy drag queen with a tiny drag queen sidekick, and you wiill continue on your fabulous way.

schedule your own makeup trial (if you want) and continue not worrying.

I think anything that has to do with her wedding is her business, but I can accept that you and I just disagree on that. :)

If the soon to be sister in law wasn't trying to make an issue of it, why did she even tell the bride to be?  The fact that she made a point to let the bride know indicates that there were other motives behind it to me.

and nicle doesn't have to care about the motives or what fsil does at all.  if she wants to spend her time and money acting a fool, that's on her.  nicole doesn't have to participate or even acknowledge this nonsense, which she has wisely chosen to do.
