Wedding Woes

What else can go wrong?

I need some advice!  I just had my bachelorette party with my bridesmaids and a few close friends.  My older bother found about it from my mom and is really upset that I did not invite his wife.  He is even threatening to not come to my wedding.  He is an usher in the wedding and my only brother.  I get along with his wife, but we are not close and she is seven years older than me.  Also, I do not consider us friends although we have always been cordial with one another.  I did not think it was a big deal not to invite her and did not think she would even want to come.  What do I do?  Also, my mom's brother just died.  How terrible.  My wedding is in two weeks and I am feeling super depressed about everything.

Re: What else can go wrong?

  • You should tell your brother that you did not host the party and your friends handled the guest list.

<div>did you host your own bachelorette party? if not, i really don't see how this is your problem. the host gets to make the guest list. </div><div>
</div><div>i think you need to give your brother a "ho sit down card"</div><div>
</div><div>"brother, i'm sorry that you're all butthurt about your wife not being invited to my bachelorette party. My friends set up the party and only invited members of our group/my close friends. Threatening not to attend the wedding isn't going to change anything at this point. i will miss you if you make the choice not to attend." END OF DISCUSSION. </div><div>

  • "butthurt" - hahahaha

I'm sorry this is happening. Basically everything PP said is good.

Rule of thumb, though? Never EVER ask "What else can go wrong?" Because you will get an answer, and you'll be surprised by what else can go wrong! It's Murphy's Law.

Ditto.  I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, but someone offended that they weren't invited to a party?  NOT a big deal and certainly not a "what else can go wrong?!?!?" shirt tearing kind of problem.

What  else could go wrong?  Turn on the news.  There are lots of bad things happening.  Take your pick.  Count your blessings.
