Let's fight over a totally hypothetical situation! (C&P plus a story)

Ok so I was talking with my sister this morning and she and her partner have discussed trying for a baby in about a year and a half to 2 years which is totally exciting because she doesn't have any kids yet, but then she said that if she found out before my wedding that would be the perfect day to tell everyone because all family and friends will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked??????? Me too.
Would any of you class this as Stealing My Thunder?????????????
I told her that it wouldn't be the appropriate day to tell everyone that and she accused me of being selfish and said "why is everything all about you?" so I told her that everything is not always about me but my wedding day at least SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!!!
Am I wrong???

Story:
When my friend got married, her cousin (with whom she is very close) found out she was pregnant a few weeks before. She waited until my friend got back from her honeymoon to announce the pregnancy. Friend still thought her thunder had been stolen because the cousin should have waited until after her wedding to even get pregnant, and plus she didn't feel like it was fair that as soon as her wedding was over all the attention shifted to someone else in the family.

This is the "friend" who introduced me to H--3 days before her wedding--and then told me I couldn't date him because she wanted him for herself.

I do think it's wrong to announce a pregnancy at a wedding.  Rehearsal dinner, after party, brunch the next day fine, but something rubs me wrong about doing it AT the wedding.  Either do it before or wait until after.  2 weeks is plenty of time after.

I place announcing a pregnancy in the same/similar category as proposing at someone else's wedding.

I'm against making a big announcement at someone else's party. If she tells Betty Sue in the bathroom, no one can stop her though.

Uhm. yeah. No! Tell your sister that althouh you are so happy for her...you would really like to have this day be about you and your man.  Everyone should have a day to celebrate themselves.  Is it selfish? Well, yeah...but it's only one day.  A day that YOU put a lot into and it SHOULD be about you.  Maybe she can announce it at another family gathering.  Just give the heads up to the dj to make sure she doesn't grab the mic.
As for the other story...where did that come from?  That lady is crazy...if it didn't happen AT her wedding or one of her wedding related parties (shower, rehersal dinner...) then she's kind of being silly.  We all get silly around this time though!
