I drive like a lunatic. I have no patience for slow driving. I also always run late, so I'm always rushing.

I got 2 speeding tickets when I was 18 or 19.   And then I went years without a ticket and then I got one last year.

Did I tell y'all how DH got *TWO*  tickets in January this year?  I about beat him senseless.  I was so mad at him.  He's changed his driving habits.  Which is great because, if he didn't I wouldn't be able to afford him anymore.

I get parking tickets.  I am fundamentally opposed to paying the city to allow my car to just sit somewhere, when I already pay them tax money for that very use of the roads.  And sometimes I get caught.

I got speeding tickets two days apart once. WTF.

Here, though, you just call a lawyer and have it dumbed down to a nonmoving violation. Usually runs about $250 or so, but there's no impact on your insurance.

    Lets see:
#1 - I was 19 and it was a speed trap....35 in a 25 or something lame like that.  I was on summer break after freshman year, so a DE cop.

#2 - the start of my classic ticket reason - 55 in a 35 because of one gas station in the middle of nowhere.  It was late at night, raining, and I was pulled over 20 feet from the limit change sign.  I fought this ticket and won on the argument that allowing the car to slow on its own was safer than hitting the brakes on a turn in that weather.  Junior year in college - VA cop.

#3 - same reason and speed as #2, only this was 3am on the way back from Panama City spring break.  It was middle of nowhere Georgia and it was a $180 ticket that obviously I couldn't fight.  Senior year in college.

#4 -  again, same reason.  This cop was a d!ck though and tailed me for a mile in an unmarked car after I had long since slowed before pulling me over.  Obviously the single violation wasn't enough to get me so he needed time to check my history.   Fall 2002 - DE cop.  I had to take defensive driving after that.

I've been clean since *knocks on wood*.

Moving violation:  Two.  One was failure to come to a complete stop total BS (four cops and a quota to fill).  The other was a legit speeding ticket.  Date posted as our first anniversary.  Ahh the traditional gift of paper.

Parking: two and one car tow.  I fought both parking tickets successfully, but marched 6 blocks or so in the cold rain to the towing office at 2am on my own to pick up my car.  That was smrt.

    I said 3+, because I think I've had 5? since I started driving 15 years ago.

Holy sht. I started driving 15 years ago.

One speeding, one expired tags, one no proof of insurance, one busted taillight, one "tint too dark" on windows in H's car.

Though I'm expecting another any minute. In addition to the speeding and the generally more aggressive driving I do in CO, I've also given up on stopping at stop signs and red lights on back roads and when no one's coming. Yes, I pause, but if the way's clear, I just go.

Also, H just got a ticket for speeding and "an aggressive lane change". Some cop was riding his ass, so he blinked, checked his blind spot, and moved. That's "aggressive" up here, apparently.

He refused to fight the speeding component, even though I'm pretty sure a cop can't use his own speedometer to cite you.

My one ticket was for running a red light.  I absolutely did not do it, but I was speeding like crazy earlier in the day, so I figured I deserved it.  Plus, the red light ticket was cheaper than the speeding ticket would have been.

Speeding tickets? None (knock on wood).
Other traffic violations? None (again, knock on wood)
Parking tickets? Hmm...I think 3 in the past few years. It's kinda really bad, because I keep getting them in the same places, but I'm too careless to remember.
