Wedding Woes

Creepy, or just me?

Have a special night out - the Chick-fil-A® way! You and your daughter are invited to attend our Chick-fil-A Daddy Daughter Date Night. Come and enjoy dinner and special conversation with your daughter. We will roll out the red carpet for our Dads and Daughters!  Complete with table side service (table cloths, flowers and candle light), Live Music in the restaurant, the Cow will be present for photo opportunites, and a desert of choice will be provided for each guest that evening.  Reserve your time slot now right on our website.

---------------------------------

My reaction? Ew. I've no objection to dads spending time with daughters (obviously, H plays with Bacon more than I do), but this just seems inappropriately romantic, doesn't it?

Of course, I do live in the land of Purity Balls, so I guess there's a market for it.

I think a candlelit dinner is taking it too far.

I am also still stuck on the "free desert" of your choice.

WTH at calling it a date night?  No, no, no.  Creepy.

Why not just a daddy-daughter dinner (with no candlelight)?

See, yeah. The candlelight, the Valentine's Day date - it's just - icky.

CFAs do a lot of family nights, with the cow and balloon makers and such - why not just do one of those as dad-daughter night?

I've always been uncomfortable with the whole gamut of dad-daughter "dates" and making the relationship into something psuedo-romantic. Yes, people date people like their parents - but that doesn't mean they should practice by dating their actual parents.

Creepy.  And I too was reminded of the eerily incestuous vibe of purity balls.

Chik Fil A and Purity Balls go hand in hand. So, for them, not creepy. In general, maybe a little creepy, but I get the point.

Not creepy, but who wants to dress up to go to Chick-Fil-A.
