My mother-in-law and I have always gotten along, until recently, we had our first spat, over the wedding. My sister-in-law caused tension between my finance and his family, because I did not choose my SIL to be in our wedding party.
I tried so hard to include her, but her problem is, she is a very immature, unreliable 20 year old. She has dramatic personal issues, that I couldn't risk incorporating into our wedding party. I was going to involve her in the wedding some how, just not directly in the wedding party.
The issue is, my MIL states that because she is my finance's sister, she should be in the wedding, and as well, his youngest sister is included, so the older one should be as well. The youngest is our flower girl. If she was a year older than she is, she wouldn't be included either.
Every time this topic is brought up, it causes tensions between everyone. I don't know what to do. I already have my bridal party picked out. I don't want to add another, because in all honesty, I cannot rely on my SIL. She only comes around when she needs something.
Let the stresses of planning begin, I suppose.
