H told me on Saturday that he wanted me to help pick out a deep-freeze as my mother's day gift.

a) I am not a mother
b) He has never given me a gift before for MD
c) HE has been jonesing hard for a deep freeze for the past year

He got a haaard side-eye and the discussion ended.   But I think there is an 80% chance that a freezer will show up on my doorstep next week.

Why doesn't he just buy one for himself instead of calling it a MD gift?

i used to get Mothers' Day gifts from the dogs. Tell him the dogs want you to have (whatever you want) - and they can buy him his deep freeze for Father's Day.

I think he is getting back at me for buying a TV for his birthday.  We both watch it.  He watches it more and cares more about having a big TV, but it was pretty much a gift for both of us.
