Daughter in Law Bridezilla

I may be losing my mind.  I'm not sure I'm going to make it until the wedding.  My soon to be daughter in law is one of the most anal, controlling, and paranoid people I have ever meant. My daughter, who was to be a bridesmaid, has been ejected from the wedding entirely, because she had the gall to suggest that perhaps the bride to be, although everyone knows that her wedding will be a fabulous event, try to relax a teeny bit so as to enjoy herself more and stress less.  What ensued could only be called WWIII.  Nasty emails flew back and forth, heated phone calls poured fuel on the fire. Then the bride wrote to me, saying that she had no idea that daughter HATED her so very much, and that surely she learned this from me. Ive already has a couple of negative exchanges with this girl in the past, whereupon I apologized just to keep the peace.  Now my husband wants me to apologize again, and I refuse to.  I fear that if no one stands up to her now, we will be in for decades of her drama.  Help

    Why are you even discussing all of this with her if you know she's crazy. Buy your dress, dance with your son, have some dry chicken and enjoy yourself.

    Don't entertain the crazy.

    wow. I agree, just don't entertain the crazy and let your son deal with her, he's the one marrying her.

    I take this approach with my FMIL when she gets nuts. I just shut my mouth and let him deal with her.

    Um, are we 100% positive the bride is completely wrong and the MIL is completely right?  One girl's "try to relax a teeny bit so as to enjoy herself more and stress less" is another's "STFU already." 

    I, for one, think the mom is exaggerating.  And the fact that she's so eager to feed the drama makes me suspect she's not a babe in the woods here.  But that may be my misanthropy talking.

    i agree with heffalump. regarding the OP, and ferdinand.


    it's a little silly she feels she has to stand up to this woman, for whatever reason. you know, instead of having a mature adult conversation with her son instead of participating in back and forth email nonsense that has nothing to do with her.
