Wedding Woes

Cat people

How do you keep your cat from destroying your tree? I've tried pepper, lemon juice, nothing is working. Those damn dirty bastages are still STILL chewing up my tiny little tree. They've knocked it over several times and I've already lost some ornaments.

Do I just need to get a metal tree and call it a day?

I have a real tree and the cat loves it.  I have some woven straw ornaments that I hang around the bottom so that he can bat at them to his heart's desire.  As much as he plays with it he has never been at risk of knocking it over.

You need a heavier tree.  Is there some way that you can weight down the base of it?

    Or try bitter apple?

It's only 2 feet tall. Short of gluing bricks to it there's no way to weigh it down. Really though they just chew on the damn branches.

Maybe I should hang it upside down from the ceiling. LOL

I imagine them taking this "given" branch and then using it as a battering ram to topple to real tree.  I find that hilarious.

    I have a crazy imagination.

    LOL

Well, at least they're cute. Maybe I will humiliate them by making them wear elf hats or something. Muahahaha!

We haven't really had any chewing issues with the live trees.  The real fun will start when we put the tree skirt (sheet) down.  They like to get running starts and see how far it moves with a headfirst dive.

We've only had problems with them stealing ornaments, so I'm afraid I don't have any helpful advice.  Maybe try one of those motion detector ornaments and try to scare the crap out of them?  LINKY
