Wedding Woes

::hulksmash::

Three days into the school year and there's drama.

The kid who sits in front of the kiddo in class, who the kiddo doesn't know from Adam and has said about 3 words to, came into school today and said that the kiddo 'marked' his shirt yesterday on purpose and now the shirt is ruined.

The kiddo swears  he didn't do anything. And it's really not in his personality to do something like that (intentionally marker someone's shirt).  The kiddo is SO upset and was almost crying. He's a terrible liar, so I'd know if he was really up to something.

So I got a call from the teacher telling me he could tell me anything (due to confidentiality) but I might be getting a call from the kid's parents.  He swears the kiddo's not in trouble, he's just being the messenger.  I'm guessing the kid went home with the kiddo's full name and they're going to look us up in the directory.

What do they want us to do? Pay for the shirt they can't prove that my kid ruined?
Whatever.  Bring it.

The teacher said he was going to give the kids the chance to switch desks.  I told him that, as the kiddo's mom, I'm telling him I want the kiddo's desk moved.  Not because I want the kiddo to avoid conflict or anything, but if the kid's parents are getting involved over something like this, I don't want to know what could happen with this kid down the line.  We've told the kiddo many times in the past to suck it up and deal with other conflicts, but this is nonsense that I'm being dragged into.  No thanks.

Oh and the kiddo said the kid told him that he was going to 'hack' the kiddo's school internet account.

This is such drama BS.   I meet the teacher on Tuesday.  He's like 22 and fresh out of college.  Oh boy...

I KNOW!  When the kiddo came home with this whole thing, I was like "Are you KIDDING me?!"  This is so stupid.

My guess is that the kid was messing around with a marker, marked his own shirt, parent found out and kid is blaming Kiddo so kid doesn't get in trouble at home.

You should talk to them because you need to know the entire story.

    Welcome to middle school.

<div>My thoughts exactly. And if his parents are that upset about a shirt with marker on it, how do they handle the day to day messes kids make?</div>

Oh I agree, NOLA...I'm just so irritated because I'm just sitting here going, "Really?!"

I'm sure you do that several times a day.

If Tommy's clothes get marked or something, I'm just like "Oh well...sucks to be you if you liked that shirt/shorts/whatever."  It's not that big of an issue for us, but he's ruined a few shirts with various art projects or whatnot at school.  It is what it is.

Yes, the kid only owns one shirt. Plus, they can't make you buy their kid a new shirt. Now, I have seen parents step up when they know that their kid lost or broke something that belonged to another kid, but you can't make them.

Troublemaker, that little dude...hopefully you get to the bottom of it, if there is a "bottom".

Even if another kid did mark my kids shirt with marker I sure as heck wouldn't be expecting the other kids parents to pay...they are kids, their clothes get wrecked, it's part of life.
