Friday night H and I went to a movie that our friend invested in. It was really good. Thriller-type that reminded me a bit of "Momento" only with sleep walking not short term memory lapses.
The movie was in its NYC premier. There was a Q&A with the Director/writer and lead actor, which was cool.
Problem with the movie 1) the morons behind us. Group of 50 somethings who had no clue what was going on. They insisted on talking loudly through the whole movie trying to understand. Had they just shut up and watched they would have gotten it.
Problem with the movie 2) the trio of girls in front of me. Roughly 18-20 and seemed more likely to be in a movie in Times Square, not one in the West Village. I don't know why they paid the money to see this movie. All they did was mess with their cell phone (one was on FB the entire movie, waving it around so her friends could see) and talk loudly to each other. I actually had to lean forward and ask her to put away her phone because it was distracting. That resulted in a slew of dirty looks, snide comments and a mild fear that I was going to get my azz kicked afterwards.
I think I want to see the film again so I can actually REALLY see it. It's exactly the type of film that I enjoy.
