Wedding Woes

Please don't storm

DH left work early to golf on a nice course.  That guy has been busting his azz for months (years).  If anyone deserves a nice afternoon it's him.  Sadly I'm hearing some thunder rumbles.  Please oh please may it not rain on him.

On a side note do you think it's trashy to take 2 kids into the liquor store?  I really want a margarita tonight, but we're out of tequila.

At least in BFE you can.

I'd ask your H to pick some up on his way home. Because I am lazy. It has nothing to do with the kids ;)

He won't be home until past 8.  Tee time is at 2 and it's a long course.  It's also 40ish mins away.

It's state law here that you cannot be under 21 and be in a liquor store.  Even if you are with a parent.

But IN has some suck-ass liquor laws (like no Sunday alcohol sales in stores).

The liquor store is attached to a carryout, worst case I have a worker go back and get it for me.

IN has cheap liquor though.  We used to slip over the border in college.

mrs. conn - OK is the same way. They also can't sell beer with a higher alcohol content cold. They do something to the blue moon to take some of the booze out of it so you can buy it cold. Whatever they do to it, makes it suckass.

All it does is make people better prepared alcoholics.

We have no alcohol in grocery stores, no alcohol on Sundays, none in convenience stores - but we always take Bacon to the liquor store. We have to: we only go every couple of months to stock up. <div>
</div><div>That is a weird-ass law, yo. They *really* don't want people drinking, do they? </div>

I am so thankful to live in California where they cater to the alcoholics.

We also can't buy cold beer in grocery stores here or at convenience stores.

They used to have a law where you could not buy alcohol AT ALL (in stores or restaurants) on election day until the polls closed (6pm).   But they overturned that law.

You can't buy alcohol on certain holidays either

The Sunday sales thing is being blocked by the independent liquor stores lobby.  They're pretty powerful, I guess.  Over half the state wants Sunday sales.

When I was in CA, my mom and I were at the store on Sunday and I went to go get some vodka. She said, "You can't buy that on Sunday." and I paniced for a minuted, then I realized where I was and bought my booze like a normal person.

My sister's former landlord owned a liquor store and preferred that people bring him checks rather than mail them.  Every month she had to choose between taking my nieces into the liquor store or risking that something terrible would happen in the 30 seconds it took to stick her head in the door and hand off the check and be the woman on the 6 o'clock news who abandoned her children in a liquor store parking lot.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.

Move to GA. We might have a no Sunday Sale Law, but anytime before that they'll get you anything you want.

And worried about the kids, most of our liqour stores have drive-thru windows. We are "slight" alcoholics in GA, at least my part.

We used to go into liquor stores at 13 or under with no parents and younger siblings/friends with us! They didn't really care, and we were only there to buy candy anyways.  But then again, am also in CA.
