Wedding Woes

Dress me, please.

I'm going to a wedding on Saturday.  It's an afternoon wedding in a Catholic church, followed by an evening reception at a nice hotel.
I've ordered two dresses online and they should arrive any day now.
Which one do you think would be more appropriate?
What shoes would you wear with each of them?
(Forecast is 65 and rainy at this point.)
Dress #1
or
Dress #2

TIA!

Link 2 doesn't work, but it's from that Old Lady Store.

#2 is apparently sold out and unavailable.

The first one seems really casual to me for a wedding, but then again, the majority of weddings I've been to have been black tie.

I know it's an old lady store, but I was getting desperate for a nice dress for little money in my size.  :(

Oooh that's a nice old lady dress!!!  ;)  To me, they're two different degrees of formality.  Only you know how formal/casual the ceremony will be, so you will have to decide.

I like #2 FAR more. Much more appropriate. And not old lady-ish at all.

Thanks, Nicole.   I've been accused of dressing like an old lady since I was in high school.   :P
They are two different degrees of formality, because I actually have no idea how formal this will be.  I don't know these people well -- they are friends with DH and he is no help at all.   Poop.   I wish I knew someone else going to the wedding.

I think I'll go with dress #2.  I'll save dress #1 for the summer.

Now, what shoes would you wear?

Do you have a black strappy sandal? Or even a peep-toe? I know that some of the ladies here are anti peep-toe, but I think when peep toes are done right, they're adorable.

I like #2.  Save #1 for a wedding with an afternoon reception.

#2 is really cute and I would wear black strappy sandals with it.

I like dress #1 better , but dress #2 (while NMS) seems more appropriate. Wear black or silver strappy sandals or peep toes in black or red.

Dress #2(from a central Ohio Catholic).  Any strappy or colored shoe would be fine.
