Wedding Woes

Baby shower Recap

Saturday was our baby shower. It was great, the last people left at 9:30pm. The party started at 1pm. It was more of a family BBQ than a traditional shower. We invited friends, family, husbands & wives. My friend organized a few games that were short and sweet. No one tried to wrap my belly in TP.

MIL only had two complaints.
1. We forgot to serve the rice pudding she made. She started to rant about it when H saw her a Mass the next day. He asked why she didn't say anything or get it out of the fridge herself. She shut up rather than admit she had forgotten too.

2. SIL delivered the still boxed crib that morning. It was so big and unwieldy that H didn't set outside with the gift table that was set-up later. I did announce that MIL got us the crib when I started opening gifts, but MIL didn't hear. I found out later she was telling anyone who would listen or could understand that she got the crib. I figured guests are already oohing and ahhhing over crap they don't care about that they could be spared oohing a big, brown box.

Re: Baby shower Recap

  • I'm glad you had a great time!  Sorry your MIL is a pooper.
  • But were there any misspelled banners? :o)

I'm glad you had a good time. Sounds like MIL was on pretty good behavior, considering.

  • I'm glad that your MIL wasn't worse.  Your cake was super cute, btw.

Thanks, H loved, loved, loved the cake. He wanted to freeze it. We didn't even freeze our wedding cake. LOL.

MIL and SIL were both on good behavior. Even nephew wasn't too bad. There were plenty of kids to keep him preoccupied.

One of my cousins I grew up with made the 2-hour trip to attend. That was really special. We don't get to see each other often, but we do try to attend each other's big events.

*Oh, and no misspelled banners. "BABY" is to hard to mess up.
