Wedding Woes

::oface:: NM(akeup)R

have you ever tried any of the crossfit workouts? if so, what do you think of the program?

i have a few acquaintances that are into it, and it seems they are a bit insane, but overall, really fit.

(if you remember the pic i posted on the FB group a while back of the acquaintance who has better abs at 14w KU with twins than most people do, ever - she's one)

    It is really funny you ask, Barbie.

    I have NOT tried CF, but I have wanted to.  There is a lot of debate lately about the CF-way and how it is viewed in the exercise industry.  I guess the best thing would be to check out a box (what CF-ers call their gyms) and see how you like the staff.

    If you like anaerobic and bursts of exercise and HEAVY lifting this would be your thing.  There are no weinie weights here.

    I still want to try it though.  I am hoping to see a Groupon or LivingSocial couponsoon.

  • KU acquaintance and her H just opened a crossfit program at their dojo. She was all disappointed because she can't participate until she has her kids. I'd recommend them (DK used to teach karate classes there) - but they're in PA.

    One of our BFF couples are crazy (literally) into CF.  They actually dropped us and the rest of our circle of friends and only hang out with CF people.  Yeah, they're fit, but bsc.  Like, stare-at-you-while-you-eat crazy because they want what you have SO BAD but won't let themselves give in.

  • Or judging you while you eat, Taw.  *smh*  Yes, because the way to bring new people to enjoy something you do, is to isolate and alienate people.  BRILLIANT.

    NO.  That IS crazy.

    If they didn't dump me, I'd have to dump them.

    Also, is it a CF thing to not wear shoes while you work out?  These two post videos on FB all.the.time. and there they are at the CF gym in just their socks, deadlifting 500lb.

    ^^^^ THIS x 1000. I had to start blocking this woman's FB posts about planning her first 30day postpartum meal plan, and how she loves her little vegetarian (her 15mo DD), etc. because they were annoying the heck out of me and made the crossfit lifestyle seem really judgy/cult-ish

    This is the only feeling I've gotten from it.
