Wedding Woes

Steak review

Remember the artisans meat store I went to the other day?

Well last night H made the steak on the fly for us. He rubbed it (hee) with some Canadian steak seasoning and cooked in his cast iron skillet before finishing it off in the stove.

We paired that with a wedge salad and it was phenomenal. After spending six hours on the road and in the heat, it was a perfect meal. The steak was so flavorful...it would have been a sin to use steak sauce on it. So delicious.

    YUM!!

Oh that reminds me, we need to get back to the Farmer's Market to see our favorite "Meat Men" (hee!) have ribeyes.  Their other cuts of beef have been wonderful.

Back in H's hometown, his family will buy an entire cow and have it butched. H loves to tell me you can cut those steaks with a plastic fork. I want to try one of those steaks. (But not cooked by MIL. She is a terrible cook.)

Psssh.  Do I have a cast iron pan.  I have about eight.  Next time I defrost a steak, I'll give you a heads up.

I use steak sauce every time - because we share one big steak, and I'm the only person who likes it mooing. But if steak isn't overcooked, I agree - no sauce.
