Wedding Woes

My work will today is nil

So, I'm having an interesting conversation with a friend, who is trans, on whether or not transwomen competing on Drag Race is kosher or not.  And finding more science is art links for BMom to look at.  And almost anything else rather than working.

All more interesting than making a chart of blood pressure, hemoglobin and hemocrit readings.

Anyone else?

Re: My work will today is nil

  • I'm so wiped out from this week that I have that fuzzy headed feeling and my eyes feel like they're moving too slowly. Needless to say, not much work is getting done today.
  • I am sitting here trying to concentrate on work while in anxious misery and willing the phone to ring with DH on the other end.
  • I am supposed to leave town, need to pack and I'm at work.  NOT working.  Because some of my workload has disappeared, my job has been postponed a week and I don't have access to Microsoft Office.  Pointless. I'm just holding on until our 1pm mandatory company meeting and then I'll see if I can scoot out.  It's silly, I love being busy, but when the work isn't there, it isn't there.

  • And V, if the trans is having hormone therapy, I don't think it would really be kosher.

  • I'm working very hard at not firing off a professional but passive aggressive reply to a project manager's off the cuff notso kindly email. Trying extremely hard...

Just got back from McDonald's.  Dragging these kids around really wears me out.  Even on their best behavior it's tiring.  We were so bedraggled the manager brought over a free shake.  A guy overheard it was M2's bday and he sang to her.  Another mom came up and said she was in the same position 5 years ago and it melted her heart to see us.

THen on the way out I bashed M2's head into the side mirror of a Lexus.  The owner of said SUV started bitching me out.  Never mind the screaming 2 yo, the baby in my other arms and the 4 yo.  They were concerned about the undamaged mirror.
  • Oh 6...I'm sorry to say that I laughed, I hope M2 is okay.

O-face, lots of drag queens take hormone therapy for boobs.  But they don't consider themselves trans.  And I'm not sure if all hormones are the same (i.e. same strength etc, as what a transitioning woman would be taking).

What brought it up was that there has been three queens on Drag Race that are in the process of transitioning.  One of them is still performing as a drag queen.  So we were discussing if you should still be a drag queen after becoming a woman.  B/c if I as a woman wanted to be a drag queen now, would that be alright?  And if not, why is it okay for a transgender woman, who wants to be accepted as a woman, remaining a drag queen?

We didn't come to any conclusions, it was just an interesting conversation to have.  Especially since the friend is a MTF transgender and can put a very different perspective on things.

I laughed too V.  It's hard not to when she has this deep, growly "ooowwwwwww" coming out of her little body.  99% of her injuries involve me laughing.
  • I'm all sorts of over work. I'm tired of the stupidity, and really I just want to go shopping.

i can't see why it wouldn't be kosher for Drag Race.

that's like some of the women on TLC competing in that show Four Weddings for a honeymoon when they already had their honeymoon. it's a reality show, so to me the point is moot. participate or don't participate only if you choose to/not to, but there shouldn't be a rule against it.

i'm also going out on a limb because i'm not too familiar with what is and isn't considered a full transition or whatever, but there are probably different levels of being a transgendered person, so to me that means there are few rules to follow. i think if you ever had a peen, then it should be fine, no matter the present state of said peen.

anyway. i am working on projects because it's slow here, and praying for an internal transfer for better hours. it looks good, it's just a matter of time.

  • Good luck Wzz.  Would you still work at home?

yes. it's just a different department. i stayed because the options i interviewed for didn't work with the hours i needed, and my supervisor wasn't lying when he told me to not worry.

but now, with H changing his hours yet again, i want more flexibility. i'm just tired of working so late all the time.
  • I hope it works out.
