H saved some kid's life today. a small brag.

we went out for breakfast, and i forgot a cup of coffee in the car when we got home. he offered to go and get it. on his way to the car, he saw a woman take her toddler out her car and tell him to stay put on the sidewalk. she went back into the car to get something, and the kid took off into the middle of the street.

we don't live on a busy street - if people are driving on our road, it's because they live or are visiting someone in the area. it's not a main road at all. but, there is a blind curve and a car was speeding around the curve. H yelled to the woman, she didn't hear, so he ran out into the street and grabbed the kid. the driver slammed on his brakes and came very close to hitting H. i'm sure a 2 year old would have been harder to avoid.

of course H yelled at the driver to not go so fast, and the driver yelled at the woman to watch the kid in the street.

but it was a very scary moment. i was glad i left my coffee in the car.

Holy cow.  I bet that woman is even more glad you left your coffee out there.  Your H seriously needs a blog though.

that reminds me -

the fact that i tore off the cougar print tape from the front door started a whole chain of events that seems to have turned into a neighbor war. i'm not even getting involved, but it's sort of funny. H found out what happened from a crazy neighbor we have (apparently he is the only one in the area she likes to talk to - her words), and there's been some back and forth passive aggresive stuff going on.

to us? nothing. but no one in the area likes the unicorn girls, and it's justified. they let their dogs relieve themselves right on the front steps, so you pass puddles of urine and piles of yappy dog poops, neighbors have complained.

but i think they thought it was crazy lady neighbor, who chain smokes outside. someone has been leaving notes in the lobby area to pick up after the dogs because it's disgusting. someone (not me) left some bagged up dog turds on unicorn girls' floor mat, and then someone (not me) has left piles of used cigarette butts on floormat in front of crazy lady's door. it's been back and forth like that between the two residences.

Can you please tell Mr. Wzz that he is one of my favorite people in the world. And that he is also one of my kid's favorite people. And not just because he's a hero - though that totally ups him on the totem pole.
