Wedding Woes

Kid related - some TMI

*DD1 has to be right up in your business when going to the bathroom. It's our fault - we thought it would be good for her to see me using the toilet, blah, blah.  She always asks to see when I'm finished.  The other day she looked in the toilet and up at me with a horrified look and asked "Mommy, you poop rocks?!?!"

*We were in the waiting room for DD2's 6 month checkup yesterday when DD1 bumped her chest on a side table with magazines.  She immediately grabbed he chest and yelled "OW!  I just hurt my boob!"  ::sigh::

*DD1 has started to turn on her bedroom light during naptimes and at bedtime.  We have tried waiting outside her room to see the light come on under the door and then going in to tell her not to turn her light on, but she won't stop.  I'm concerned she'll develop a habit of only being able to sleep with it on.  Tonight I'm going to unscrew the bulb so the switch won't turn it on and see how she reacts.  She's not afraid of the dark, she just likes to look at books in bed.

I like this kid. If she's anything like I was, she'll just hide a flashlight under her pillow so she can read all night long....

  • Hee!!  Those are hilarious.
  • heheh at DD1
  • What's the problem with needing a light on? I have trouble sleeping in the dark. Dark is scary, and it's hard to find your way to the bathroom when you get up to pee if there's nothing on.

    Does she have a nightlight?

I don't know, I guess this is something I wouldn't fight. Bacon sleeps with a light, I sleep with a light - heck, we leave a kitchen light on so there's light in the house, just in case. I don't think it's that rare or that troubling.

  • I bought DD a nightlight for the bedroom, but she insists that we plug it/turn it on in the kitchen.  I don't understand it, but she's perfectly happy in the dark I guess.

  • We still have a Christmas tree in 6let's room because he likes the light.  They really start to develop an imagination at this age.  Life can be scary.

<div>Awww.  I'd wish you good luck, but I'm actually rooting for the kid.  Go little bookworm, go!  (My parents were never able to break me of this one, either.)</div>
