Today is my last day at work for the week. Tomorrow we do pre-op and get admitted. Procedure is Thursday and then at some point on Friday we'll be discharged. During the weekend a visiting nurse will come over to make sure we're doing ok.

I should have taken today off too.

Good morning.

We're currently awaiting Snowmageddon.  It was supposed to be here at 3am and it wasn't.  Most schools were already closed last night.

I'm hoping it isn't so awful so we can get to our doctor appointment safely this afternoon.

today was gross. we brought the dog in for a long overdue visit, and we know what the inside of his asss smells like. disgusting. but, it all needed to be done. he was NOT happy that we got rid of the kid and didn't do something fun. oh well.

at least the weather will be nice today.

There's too much to do before being out for several days to take a half day. I leave at 4 today, though.

I'm still under the weather but better than yesterday (so yay for that) - made it through a full workout after work yesterday. 

after a full year + in this job, new boss has finally figured out how unbalanced division of workload is. after our team meeting today, it looks like she is finally going to let me delegate some work to my counterpart in Europe, in addition to the training I have been doing with one of our junior team members here. i purchase globally, but the bulk is in North America, which accounts for probably 75% of our capital projects. European counterpart focuses on Europe and made the mistake of saying that things are slow for him. Boss saw the screwed up look on my face at that comment and told me after the meeting she was already thinking I could send him some work. I'm already figuring out what I can assign to him.

I'm at work. I had the luxury of sleeping in and deciding that I didn't want to traverse the craptastic roads.  So I waited about 1 hour and then headed out.  It made all the differences as 2 of the 3 roads were only wet with some slush.

I'm not working tomorrow, and I think H is celebrating his new job tonight with BIL, I hope I get to tag along, but I'll settle for being DD if need be.

Buh. We've had a serious crabby cakes on our hands the last couple of nights. Normally she wakes up, eats, gets a clean dipe and falls back asleep. Easy. Last 2 nights she is cranky and crying every 3 hours and takes an hour to fall back asleep. I was going to get her out to our breastfeedng group, but I just got her back to sleep after the 715 feeding. I need coffee.

Today we are meeting with a social worker, we made the decision to admit my grandmother to hospice. This is the final bit of paperwork to make it official. Ever since her last admission/ discharge to and from the hospital, she hasn't been the same. Her MD was even holding out she would bounce back this time like she always has, I think this took the last of her reserves.

Thanks all. She'll do great. H and I might need to be drugged, but we'll be fine too. The anticipation sucks.

Ali, can't wait to hear about your appt.

I'm off work today.  We slept in, went out to lunch, went to the Container Store, and now are just waiting for the snow to make its way here.  We're supposed to get snowmageddon or something.
