Wedding Woes

IL giant WTF from this weekend (kind of long)

All of the ILs (not exaggerating) go to a private Christian school, all of the adult ILS either attended or have worked there at some time. Its a weird family cult type deal, H hated it there. H and MIL were talking about BIL's senior trip with the school and it came out that the trip was TO PICKET ABORTION CLINICS as a school function. WTH #1

I of course, double take a bit, MIL gives me the hard side eye and goes "We used to go as a family a couple times a year" I look at H and and said:
"you really did that?"
"yep, and Dad used to take the middle schoolers once a year."
"Littlest SIL and Second Littles SIL?"
"No, the school. As a field trip"
They take 11-13 year olds to abortion clinics to picket.  WTH#2

MIL chimes in "we've shut down 2 clinics already, and we went to George Tiller's in KS one year" WTH #3

Disclaimers
1-I talked to H later, he didn't have a choice in going as a kid, and has no desire to do it as an adult, and will not allow our kids to go- just so you know he didn't drink that Koolaid
2- I am pro life, but harassing desperate women in the middle of one of the most painful experiences of their life seems really un Christlike to me. And the George Tiller murder was the darker spot on the church than any service he provided. I think the solutions to abortion are birth control options that are easy to obtain and re-vamping welfare distribution (Teen Mom contracts aside), not picketing and driving people to clinics like the one that was busted in PA.**steps off of soapbox**

And I thought the bathroom thing 2 weeks ago was bad. pshhht.

You're marrying into the Phelps family? And here we thought your biggest problem was Pepsi rage.

So the next time I see the group of picketers outside of Chick-Fil-A with their aborted fetus pictures I'll know they may be related to Inks. I will apologize now for anything I may do in the future. While it won't be deadly it may be embarrassing. There's an Adam & Eve just down the road.

Chik-Fil-A? Why would they picket there? It's a Christian chikin joint.

They should put all that effort into creating something to help women with crisis pregnancies. When I got pregnant, my first instinct was to turn to the Church for help, but I couldn't find anything online or in the phone book to even vaguely direct me, and I didn't know any clergy in the town I'd just moved to. So I had to turn to the state, even though I didn't want to take bureaucratic help.

My point: everyone knows where a Planned Parenthood is, but whereTF is the help for those of us who are pro-life and committed to doing what we think is the right thing about our pregnancies? You want to save babies? Fcking advertise that you'll help us have babies!

It's a busy road. They're facing the road (feet from the road) with bull horns and huge pictures of aborted fetuses. They go all over the area with that nonsense.

BC, do whatever you want, but post pics after!

Myrtle- This is the first I'd ever heard of it. I seriously am on IL hiatus till I can look them in the eye without murderous rage (not pepsi rage, just the regular kind)

Bmom- exactly! GAH! I just had a bit of an argument with the college's chaplain about something said in my class (I teach Gender and Ethnic issues in Ministry- or have for a few weeks, this is my first teaching job. I even had the department head supervise to avoid landing in hot water.) because we aren't allowed to say the Church should offer services that would remove consequences of bad decisions, they should be accepted . But last I knew, that's what Jesus did... I must be reading the Bible wrong or something. silly me.
