Wedding Woes

s/o inter-generational workplace romance

When I was 17/18 I worked as a checker in a grocery store.  The meat department manager was probably pushing 40.  He was not a looker but he could flirt and charm like nobody's business.  After an affair with one of the other checkers his wife got a job in the store so that she could keep an eye on him (and she is the one who told me this).  Their 16 year old son also worked there after school.  Yet the guy would still try to put the moves on all of the high school girls that worked there.  He had no shame.

  • When I was 17 the manager of the movie theater asked me out. When I said no, I was quickly fired. I think he was around 30.

I was at a party not to long ago, and we were all talking about our first jobs (that was mine) and everyone had some horrific, harrowing experience that came from it...be it sexual harrasment, a boss asking you do to something illegal/wrong, or what have you.

  • I can't be the only one who laughed at "meat department", right?

Hee!  Maybe that was working on a subconscious level to his advantage. :)

  • There was a supervisor who got fired from my company after several women came forward and accused him of sexual harrassment.   I always thought he was a creep and kept my distance.

His wife's a training instructor for my company.  They're still married because I saw him at our Christmas party with her.
