Wedding Woes

Inspired by a thread on the official schadenfreude board, Starting Over

I judge, and judge hard, women who won't date men their own age.

If you will only date men older than you, please let me know so I can put you on my permanent "snipe at her when you're constipated" list.

What do you consider to be in the same age? I have dated men older and younger than me. ::bumps chest with fist:: come get me.

Meh. I like the look of older men, but have always dated guys my own age. I'm not one for younger guys - and I mean more than ~5 years - because I'm still young enough that a guy much younger than me wouldn't want the same things out of life that I did. And when I was dating, it felt inappropriate - there was a guy who wanted to date me when I was 23 and he was 18, and that felt icky.

If I have to date when I'm older, I can't see eliminating younger dudes.

*shrug*  When I first started really dating, I worked in an office with people 10-30 years my senior, and that's who I was spending the majority of my time with.  I just didn't relate as well to most guys I was meeting in their early 20s.   When Mr. Arb and I met, I was 22 and he was 32. I think the guys i'd dating before him were both in their late 20s.

ETA: It's not like a had a rule that I would only date older guys, but it just happened to work out that way.

I prefer older men, but seeing as H is 3.5 years younger than me, I obviously don't have a strict and fast rule. If I ever date again, I imagine I'll date older, but who knows. Let's just hope that never happens.

I have always related better to people older than me rather than people younger than me.  I was born feeling 40.  I remember making the statement once that I could *maybe* date a man 10 years older than me.  And then DH came along (blowing even the generous 10 year rule out of the water) and I thought "what the heck, this might be fun for a bit."  I never dreamed I would marry until it was too late.

But if I was back in the dating pool tomorrow I wouldn't have a rule against younger men.

Eh, I dated older and younger and everything in between.  It wasn't necessarily something I thought too much about.  Most relationships ended with me cheating anyway so I never thought long term.
