I am looking for kitchen ideas

But I don't think a penny counter top is what I am looking for:

I wouldn't want that in my kitchen.  Maybe a bartop, but not my kitchen.

I think it looks cool, but the process of putting all of those pennies in place would drive me BSC.

Maybe for a bar or a guest bath vanity, but that is a little much for the kitchen, and I doubt that it is easy to clean.  Oh, and my bar wouldn't be tiled with any cheapo pennies.  Silver dollaz, b!tches!!

It looks cool, but I need all my kitchen counters to be heatproof. A bathroom vanity, now....

The flying saucer bar (locations in TX, TN - other midwest/southeast places) have this at the bar and all along the back wall behind the bar, I do believe. It's a ton of fun for that kind of environment.

Confession: I've always wanted to do some kind of epoxy table with crap in it like this.  Could never decide what crap, though, and of course it's completely impractical in just about any environment except a restaurant or boutique hotel or something.

DG, I've been threatening to create some sort of epoxy table w/ slightly damaged fossils that I can snag @ work for years...
But I cvan't *quite* bring myself to put them where they can't be touched.

I think it's an interesting re-use of materials.  I think you'd have to have the right kitchen for that look though.  I don't think I'd like it for all of the countertops.  But it'd drive me nuts to have not totally shiny copper pennies.
