Wedding Woes

One more thing

My nieces have been all about trying to name this baby.  They have come up with some reall goofball names.  Yesterday one of them came up with a name I shouldn't love, but do.

Annabelle.  I love it with the middle name Eileen and with our last name.  It's just not the traditional old school names I've been leaning towards.

Tell me it's a stupid name so we can move on.

    It make me think of Edgar Allen Poe

    ANNABELLE LEE

    Author: Edgar Allan Poe

    It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the sea,
    That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of Annabel Lee;
    And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by me.

    I was a child and she was a child,
    In this kingdom by the sea;
    But we loved with a love that was more than love -
    I and my Annabel Lee;
    With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
    Coveted her and me.
    And this was the reason that, long ago,
    In this kingdom by the sea,
    A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
    My beautiful Annabel Lee;
    So that her highborn kinsman came
    And bore her away from me,
    To shut her up in a sepulcher
    In this kingdom by the sea.
    The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
    Went envying her and me
    Yes! that was the reason
    (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea)
    That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
    Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

    But our love was stronger by far than the love
    Of those who were older than we
    Of many far wiser than we
    And neither the angels in heaven above,
    Nor the demons down under the sea,
    Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
    For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
    And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
    And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
    Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
    In the sepulcher there by the sea,
    In her tomb by the sounding sea.

    Um, Annabelle was one of our front running names for a girl if we going to have one.  I wanted to try and name her for Anna somehow.

    I also like the name.  Kinda like Sarabeth too...but obviously not TOO much, otherwise I wouldn't share.  Heh.

    I think it's a sweet name. Plus, one of my fav students of all time was named Annabel. That's how she spelled it.

    You guys really aren't helping.  Where's Bmom?

    I've never heard of that poem before so 10000% certain DH hasn't either.  His niece is named Barrett and I like Elizabeth.  Jokingly I said we needed a Browning and he didn't have a clue.

    I like that name.  It is cute, but also old-fashioned/traditional/not weird.

    This exactly for me.  Very pretty, but I just can't shake the Poe poem where the only thing is did was be pretty and be dead.  And sorta the unseemly "child bride" aspect of Poe's love life.

    I'm no help - I like Anabelle, too. It's pretty.

    I'm also a fan of Adelaide.

    Darnit Bmom!

    DH likes it too.  I saw a flicker in his eye when I mentioned it.  We still have 3 weeks and 3 days though.
