Wedding Woes

Unpopular opinion re: kids at the wedding

I do think it's okay to tell people that while there may be other children coming (if they ask), their kids aren't invited because they aren't well-behaved.  After all, how else are they going to know their kids are hellions?  Clearly some sort of insanity has clouded their own judgment.

I only know one person with a small child, so no.  But I'd imagine that the parents wouldn't like you much any more, and the problem would take care of itself, right?

Kind of like firing a bridesmaid.  I can dig it.

i don't think you owe an explanation to anyone when they ask you "why?!?!"  you just don't, and that's it.

telling someone that their kid sucks is a friendship ender for most people, and you could have saved yourself the cost of a stamp AND an rsvp stamp by doing this before your wedding.

My aunt and uncle (invited) brought along my cousins (12 and 25 y.o., not invited).  When they asked why cousins didn't have a placecard, I said, "You weren't invited, therefore there's no seat for you.  You need to ask *that guy* if he can set up an extra table and what the cost of two meals would be."  Want to talk about dropped jaws?  My sMom ushered them away quickly.  But I was pissed they stayed, we paid and the seating was fvcked because of it.

Wow....that takes brass balls to ask for something like that.  The cost of two meals?  Jeez....I would have been so angry, too.

Even if you told them their children were demon spawn AND had video and expert witnesses, they will not believe you.  They never do...and it will damage whatever relationship you have forever.

I get that it would totally feel wonderful however.....
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
