Thanks to us not looking like Hobos and the lack of cat litter and shovels in our trunk we were allowed to enter the wonderhouse.
It was everything you would expect. It was lovely, clean and well decorated. We asked if we should remove our shoes. She said it was up to us. We removed our footwear. WW eyes went directly to my feet. She promptly said "um, Ms Busy are those individualized toes socks on your feet?"
http://x.couver.us/images/socks/light_pink_ankle_toe_sock.jpg "yes they are"
I proceeded to show her how I can fold my toes under my feet making it appear that I have 8 toes instead of 10 and how I use this talent to freak out children.
She look at me as if to say "of course, Busy, I would expect nothing else from you."
We meet her sister and step mother, and eventually Wonderhusband. We missed MIL by minutes. STUPID FREAKING GPS. AS IF WE NEEDED ANOTHER REASON TO HATE THAT THING.
We gave her our offerings, I mean gifts. Sorry, no pics. One gift was a lovely clutch purse (correct me if I'm wrong Wz) in the colors of her "hot" party. It was very pretty. Wonderhusband was wearing the t-shirt favor from that party that said on the back "40 is the new 20."
We also presented an offering, I mean gift, of a dozen NY bagels, a laptop rester pillow with unicorns, rainbows and fairies on it with a matching holographic notebook.
When we entered the hangout room where the tv had on the wedding channel. We were not sure if this was in honor of us or just something she liked to watch.
She showed us the monkey paw painting. It was glorious. She retold the story of it's unveiling. Much funnier than the post. The hand is truly in 3D, holding dominos. I wanted to shake its hand.
We all shared stories. WZ and I were worried on the drive up that we might bore her, or their might be awkward silences. WZ thought that we should have brought index cards with conversation topics. I said as long as we don't write on our palms like Palin did.
It turns out the conversation flowed. It was great. We had to force ourselves to leave at 5 since we had a long drive ahead of us.
It was wonderful.
