sorry, i was in training last week, and just saw your post.
i took 11 or 12 business days off. I got the surgery on a thursday or friday, and stayed out for the following 2 weeks. I would have been ok to go back sooner, but it was paid, so figured i'd take the few extra days. you'll want to stay out for at least a week post-op - as a minimum, until they take your packing out. You'll notice a huge difference once the packing comes out. (For one, you'll be able to breathe through your nose again...)
Make sure you follow the aftercare - they'll have you flush your sinuses at least 1-2x per day after the packing is removed with a few cups of saline each time. this will be very uncomfortable at first but will improve over time.
if you get surgery on a Wed, packing out following Wed, you could probably go back to work the following Monday; however, this is also dependant on how well you heal, and how you react to pain/painkillers.
