speaking of bananas, I did the 'freeze banana and blend into fake ice-cream'

thing yesterday...
Buffy was 'meh' about it (although she's 'meh' a lot about foods) and I thought it was pretty good...although I think adding *something* (peanut butter and milk maybe?) would help, otherwise it's...to banana-y.
And when it's melty, it's not so good.

But it is thick and creamy.

I couldn't get it to blend right in the blender. Maybe a hand mixer would be better?

it took FOREVER in the blender and rquired me to keep scraping down the sides.
I really do still want a food processor.
Unfortunately, that attachment is over $100.

I finally bought a food processor. The $30 one on amazon, that is actually the highest-rated one on there. It's been here almost a week, and I still haven't used it.  Maybe I will slice up some potatoes. Ooooh. Potatoes au gratin.  Can you use pretty much any potato for that?

I made a version where I roasted the bananas first and blended them with cocoa powder, it was really good and on my blog. I did use an ice cream freezer though.

I do have an ice-cream freezer.  I should try it that way.

My parents use various potatoes in their au gratin, but...uhm, they aren't what your potatoes should aspire to.

*adding $30 food processor to wish list*

  • That does look good.  I'll have to remember to try it next time I buy bananas.
  • It works really well in a processor.  I can say that.
