Help a girl out

Okay, hard to explain the connection but the wife of H's cousin (got that?) does tastefully simple parties and I have attended ONE that she threw at SIL's house.

Now she's emailing me to ask to host a party.  I guess I should just grow some balls and say, "thanks but no thanks", but eek...I don't want a freakin' Tastefully Simple party.

What is Tastefully Simple?  And why do you need to have balls to say no?  Why can't you express your dislike of TS in a tactful, yet assertive way?  And maybe you can refer her to someone you know who loves TS.

It's like a tupperware party or some such thing.

Say, "thank you for considering me, but no thank you."

I have teeny tiny microscopic balls, but I have turned these requests down several times, usually with, "no thanks, I don't feel comfortable hosting those kinds of parties."  Maybe rude, but it is the honest truth.

Write back and say, "Thanks, but I'll be too busy over the next few months with the tv show, Hoarders, to get enough space cleared for a party.  Thanks for thinking of me though!!!!  Unless this party hosting comes with free gifts... lots of free gifts I can keep."

I assume all people who host sht like this are pushy. Somone I know keeps insisting I both host a party AND set up a registry with pampered chef. I explained "I don't like people in my house." and she still pushes. So then I just told her "No."

    She still asks.

No! Just say no! The hostess gift is a foot-in-the-door technique.

This - /> "no thanks, I don't feel comfortable hosting those kinds of parties."

    They're not gifts - they're sales-quota rewards. <div>
</div><div>"Thanks, but that won't be possible." You leave out that it won't be possible because it's rude as fck. </div>

Though I appreciate the offer, I just don't have the time or feel comfortable hosting a party.  Thank you for thinking of me though.
