Wedding Woes

So I have our wills mostly figured out

we should hire a lawyer, I know, but I have *something* for the meantime.  all done.  took me forever to get around to it.

The Mr. says plan A is 'don't die', and plan B is 'don't die at the same time'

we're still debating who to put in as 'backup if sis can't take Buffy' (she said she would, it's set.  But, you know, things happen.)

Good for getting this far, but GET TO A LAWYER.  It doesn't take long and it's not too much money.

I know--we need to.  esp because of estate stuff--not that we have much, but, how to make sure Buffy wouldn't blow it on M&M's at age 8 :-P

I'll make an appointment (we do actually have a lawyer) once the Mr. and I are in agreement on our 'backup' person, etc.  After my vacay.

You don't need the backup person to make the appt.  The appt will give you a deadline, but you don't even need to have a backup person when things are drawn up.  You can change them later.

    true true.

The Mr. hadn't actually considered any of the questions I asked him last night.

"so what if we all die at the same time?  Buffy too?  I vote all 4 is split 4 ways between sibilngs, my big sis as exec because she's honest and competent."
The idea had never occured to him that we should, while we're at it, plan for that contingency.  (and yes, Big sis will be exec.  She'll be in charge no matter what--she'll get Buffy and handle everything.)
