Stupid venues!

in Wedding Woes
So my fiance and I found the perfect venue that fits well into our budget... and now they want a 50% deposit to hold a date that's 2 years away!  Argh!  So now if we don't come up with the money super soon, we're going to lose our dream venue and our date... I have no idea what to do.  We've tried everything to come up with the money, and we keep failing because life continues to happen.  AHHHHHH!

    Frankly I'm shocked they didn't just hold the date for you without any sort of financial accountability on your part. Just like with everything else, your word should be good enough.

    2 years in advance is way early to book a venue. Unless you're getting married at Disney World, I bet if you wait until next year your date will still be available.

    We live in Phoenix, and are wanting to get married outside in October, which is prime time here... so naturally, places book up super quick.  Turns out that the venue we wanted had already planned something for our date.  Back to the drawing board I guess.
